I would like to thank the Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce for giving me the opportunity to serve as President.  I and the Board of Directors look forward to working with the business community and the citizenry alike on projects which will be of benefit to our area.  Its no secret that everyone is facing challenging economic times, and the Chamber's mission will be to focus its efforts on those initiatives that will do the most good for our community in the most efficient way possible.  Our membership rightfully expects that the resources they entrust to us are used in the best way possible, and I and the Board are committed to doing just that.  Our relocation downtown to the City Museum benefits both the Chamber and the Community by providing an economical venue to conduct Chamber business, and allows access to the many artifacts from Sparta's rich history.  This is just one way that the Chamber is seeking to maximize value for its membership and contribute to the life of our community.  I and the Board of Directors welcome comments, and I encourage all to contact me personally to let us know how we are doing.  The Chamber will work hard throughout the coming year to ensure that prosperity isn't just a promise, but a reality.
