NEW OFFICE OPEN

Just in case you haven’t heard, I, Emma Spreitler am back at the Chamber office. The new office is located at the Brown Museum, 132 W Broadway is now open. Our hours will be Tuesday and Thursday 11 to 1, Wednesday 10 to 2. The telephone number will be 317-7222, and I am available to answer the phone on all days.

THANK YOU

The Chamber and the City gave a special thanks to the family of Emma Spreitler, including sons Michel Reese and daughter-in-law Amy, Tim Reese and Carol King (mother) for all the work and cleaning that went in to setting up the museum and the office. Come by and take a look. We are very proud of our achievements in offering an organized museum and chamber office for the community.

SPECIAL EVENTS

At the moment we have nothing special going, other than starting to prepare for the Grand American. Please contact Charlie Bluff or the office if you would be willing to volunteer some hours at our information booth.

3-D ARCHERY SHOOT

Ruben Owen reported that we had a good turn out for the final shoot. There is some interest being shown in possibly having two shoots this fall before bow season opens. A big thanks to Ruben and all his helpers who assisted in making these events happen.

NEW COMMITTEE LISTS

President Rieckenberg has compiled the new committee list for the upcoming year and these will be emailed to the directors next week.

The office is in the process of getting the 2009 membership list compiled and will try to put this out with a special email to the members. WEEKLY EMAIL UPDATES

I will try to continue these as Molly has done in the past, but it may take me a little while to get everything organized and ready to put into action. Please bear with me while I am trying to catch everything up.

MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY IN NEWSLETTER

I will try to get all the current 2009 members listed in our monthly newsletter and update it as we receive new members. This is a goal for next month’s newsletter.

MUSEUM TOURS

The museum is open during the same hours as the Chamber office, but if anyone has a group they would like to have tour the museum at a different time, please call the office, and I will arrange a time to open the museum for you. We would like for the community to be able to use the museum again. There are many interesting and historical items in the museum. We had our first tour Friday afternoon with students from Sparta Primary School. They were very interested in all the old artifacts that they could look at and want to come back again.

FRONT LOBBY

We will be displaying our literature in the front lobby for easy access. There is also a community bulletin board in the lobby, please check it for things going on around Sparta and the surrounding area. If you have something you want placed on it, please bring it in to the office.

MOLLY HAMILTON

As you know, Molly has left us to continue her career. We wish to thank her for all her hard work and hours that she did with the Chamber. Molly had fantastic ideas to help promote the Chamber, and I hope that as a whole body we will be able to continue with these ideas. Molly, we wish all the best for you.

ADVANTAGE MEMBERS

If you could possibly email your logo to the office, I would like to include it with the directory.

UNPAID MEMBERS

If you have not had the chance to pay your dues yet, please do not hesitate to do so. We can now offer monthly billing to help make it easier to pay your dues. General Membership is $120 a year or $10.00 monthly. Advantage Membership is $600 a year or $50.00 a month. If you have questions about the different membership packages, please contact any Chamber director or call the office to have it explained to you.

NEW NEWS

If you have something you would like to have put in the newsletter, please contact me at the office. Come in, call, or email and I will be happy to add it to our newsletter.
